Your smile is one of the ways you greet the world, and when saying hello, you want your best side out front. But if your teeth don’t look the way you’d like, you may hide your smile and seem more aloof and less friendly. But your dentist in Johnston and Urbandale, IA, has the solution to your hesitation.

For one or two teeth, treatment can be as simple as a dental veneer or crown. But sometimes, the smile of your dreams can be attained through a whole mouth method. In these cases, Invisalign is an excellent option.

Discover What Makes Invisalign Different

Invisalign is an orthodontic treatment that straightens teeth through specially molded, clear trays that you wear every day. With Invisalign, we don’t need brackets and wires, which can be uncomfortable and encumbering. Your trays are inconspicuous and easy to use; the odds are that people around you won’t even see them.

Straighter teeth are preferable to maintain because your toothbrush can reach all facets of your teeth. Treatment will also reduce your risk of periodontal disease because your gums will also be easier to clean. When you combine the functional benefits of aligned teeth with an improved ability to manage your teeth effectively, your oral health will inevitably improve.

The Invisalign Process

The process begins when you come in for a comfortable consultation with Drs. Phan and Babor. They’ll assess your teeth, including bite and alignment to ensure Invisalign is right for you. If so, they will scan your mouth with 3-D imaging software to show you how the process will enhance your smile, including how much time the treatment will take based on your needs.

Then, you’ll wear your aligner for 20-22 hours per day, changing to the next aligner every fourteen days or so. Finally, you may remove each tray for eating, brushing, and flossing. This promotes comfort and reduces gum and mouth irritation. So much planning goes into your treatment that you’ll be aware of all costs before the regimen begins.
